The Living Room

LRLogo2011The Living Room
WL's Third Service
Sunday's at 11:15 am @ The Hub

The Living Room provides an informal, intimate, and interactive setting in which to connect people to God, each other, and their purpose in life.

Informal – Attendees of the Living Room are welcome to “come as they are” - we’re the less formal alternative on a Sunday morning. Get your coffee, and then get a refill during the sermon. Bring the kids – all ages are welcome. Worship as you feel lead to worship!

Intimate – How often have you sat in church and not known the person sitting next to you? In the Living Room we desire to build relationships, and the intimate setting allows us to connect more freely, on a personal level, with everyone in attendance. Building relationships is a core belief of the Living Room.

Interactive – have you ever wondered “what does that point in the sermon mean?” or maybe did you feel lead to pray with a small group after a particularly moving time of worship? In the Living Room you’re not a part of the “audience” - we’re designed for active participation!

Small Groups

SmallGroup-small 000Small groups are a vital point of connection at WLGBC. In fact, we think they are so important, that one of our goals is for each person to be in a healthy small group. A healthy group connects people to Jesus in a way that promotes spiritual growth, connects people to each other in authentic community, and connects people to God’s purpose in a relational and practical way. Being involved in relationships with other people is an indispensable part of the Christian journey. A focus of small groups is the development of authentic community. Authentic community thrives where genuine relationships are formed around spiritual truth. Where this occurs, a spiritual family is born that provides a safe environment where each person is valued.

Small groups can take many different forms and each small group has a distinct personality. Although each group has its own areas of emphasis, every group incorporates aspects of prayer, discussion of the Bible, evangelism, service, and worship. If you are interested in more information on small groups or would like to get connected to a small group, please contact the church office at 574.267.6623 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Moms Connection

MOPS

Encourage on another. I Thes. 5:11a

Moms' Connection (formerly MOPS) at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church is a program focused on mothers with children ranging in age from infant through Kindergarten, but all mothers are welcome. Moms' Connection provides a faith based, supportive and nonjudgmental environment where mothers can come together with others who are in similar life situation.

At Moms' Connection, relationships are formed that encourage moms to gain confidence, learn about mothering and grow personally in a caring and accepting atmosphere. Moms' Connection programs include teaching by mentors and other speakers, discussion, community and opportunity to develop creativity while children are cared for in a parallel program called SonBeams.

SonBeams is our childcare program. Your children will be cared for by a consistent team of volunteers who will teach, feed and care for your child(ren) while you are at the Moms' Connection meeting.

There is a one time registration fee of $35.00 per year and is due at the first meeting. Your registration fee includes childcare programming with snacks and crafts. If financial difficulties keep you from participation, please see Brandi Wright, Moms' Connection Treasurer.

Moms' Connection meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, September – May starting at 9:15 a.m. and going till 11:15 a.m.

Music & Worship

WorshipTeam2-smallWe were made for worship. God created us to enter into the exuberance of His joy and satisfaction in the goodness and greatness of His own glory.

Worship is a relational response to the reality of who God is.

  • The essence of worship is intimate knowledge of God and heartfelt satisfaction in Jesus. This is primarily an inward, spiritual experience of the heart.
  • The expression of worship is an outward, relational response to the truth of God’s glory. This relational response includes things like praise and thanksgiving, but at its heart it is a conscious, glad giving of ourselves to God through Spirit-filled obedience and service. Spirit-filled obedience and service pervades every choice of life, which means that worship is a continual lifestyle.
  • The motivation for worship is a radical treasuring of God in Christ and a passionate pursuit for more of Him. We obey and serve out of gratitude for what God has done, out of delight in magnifying who God is, and out of a desire to know and enjoy Him more fully.

“My prayer is that we will be on mission wherever we are, that we do not have to travel around the world to minister cross-culturally. We are already cooperating with three other GBC’s in Hispanic outreach.”

“Our desire is to disciple children in our church family to fall so in love with Jesus that they are eager to tell everyone they meet about Him. They are not too young to be used by God in a mighty way.”

Helping Hands

Helping Hands is a ministry to regular attendees of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. Many of us in the WLGBC family are looking for ways to help those among us who are in need. We are looking for people willing to use their God-given talents, gifts, or abilities to help others in our church family. Helping Hands is a way for the church family to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.
