Celebration Choir

Men, women and students joining voices to praise God through worship/praise music in Sunday Morning services as well as the seasonal celebrations of Easter and Christmas.

Availability: The monthly Celebration Choir typically sings the 2nd Sunday of the month, with rehearsals on the Sunday and Wednesday preceding 2nd Sunday. The Christmas Celebration choir begins rehearsals in September with rehearsals held on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. leading up to the outreach concerts, typically on the 2nd weekend of December.

Praise Team Band

Leading worship services with worship/praise music to focus on the truths of God’s Word, acknowledging God’s worthiness and our gratefulness for what He has done.

Instrumentalists. Need to be able to read chord charts; helpful if they play by ear, but not necessary. Can pick up music rather quickly and play as a unit with the others in the band. Acoustic guitar, bass guitar, lead guitar, percussion (electronic drum kit; djembe); and keyboard. Periodically using selected brass/woodwind, string instruments.

Availability: Assist on a rotating schedule. Auditions required. Praise Team typically rehearses on either Wednesday or Thursdays 6-7:15 p.m.

Praise Team Vocals

Leading worship services with worship/praise music to focus on the truths of God’s Word, acknowledging God’s worthiness and our gratefulness for what He has done.

Singers able to read music, pick up music rather quickly, as well as being able to sing harmony by ear.

Availability: Assist on a rotating schedule. Auditions required. Praise Team typically rehearses on either Wednesday or Thursdays starting at 6 p.m. and going till 7:30 p.m. Vocalists expected to also participate in the Celebration Choir.

Vocal Solo/Ensemble

Solos and ensembles sharing in the worship services; seasonal Easter/Christmas Celebration Choir. Audition required.

Availability: Flexible schedule. Vocalists expected to participate in Celebration Choir.

Instrumental Solo/Ensemble

“Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet... with tambourine and dancing, with the strings and flute...let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

Players of all kinds of all kinds of instruments are welcomed to contribute to the worship experiences by adding accompaniment to hymns or other worship songs, solos or small ensembles, or for seasonal events. We are looking for someone to champion and coordinate the instrumentalists.

Keyboard Accompaniment

Sunday a.m. worship service (grand piano and organ) for selected Sundays to accompany the singing of hymns; accompaniment for solos/ensembles; and for Sunday Night Praise . (see the Sunday Night Praise link).

Sunday Night Praise

Meeting every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6 p.m., the SNP features hymn singing with the organ and piano, testimonies, special music, and a short expository Bible message. (The 2nd and 4th Sunday evenings are also the same evenings that the church’s Small Group ministries meet in homes at 6 p.m.). The Living Room

The Living Room is our third service at WLGBC. We are informal, intimate and interactive. Every aspect of The Living Room is live except for the simulcast video of the message. Costume Team

Help to prep, sew, organize and order costumes for the Easter/Christmas concerts; assist with maintaining the costume inventory room. Some sewing experience is best.

Drama Team

Help to illustrate message themes and God’s truth through drama sketches. Dramatic sketches are a significant part of our annual Christmas and Easter Celebrations. Opportunities for coordinators, actors, creating costumes and/or props. Availability: As needed, flexible schedule.

Interpretive Dance Team

For the seasonal Easter and Christmas concerts for selected scenes. Good coordination and dance background are important, but not necessary. Looking for someone to champion/coordinate this worship art form. The team’s involvement could expand and be used throughout the year in regular Sunday morning worship services.

Stage Construction

For the Easter/Christmas concerts. Assist with any of the following: transport existing sets from storage to the church; Assist with set-up and striking the set; assist with building various parts of the stage needed for that Season’s musical.

Props

For the Easter/Christmas concerts. Assist through the year to look for unbelievable low cost deals at garage sales, flea markets, etc. Assist to create and/or purchase props. Assist to keep inventory of all props. Looking for someone to champion/coordinate this team.

Tech Team

Weekly Sunday services and the annual Easter/Christmas Celebrations are enhanced by the behind-the-scene people. Additional ministry opportunities for tech assistants to serve with The Living Room, Sunday Night Praise, Kid’s Chorale annual Christmas and Spring musicals; weddings and memorial services. Audio board operators, power point/DVD operators, camera operators, light board operators. Opportunities also available to help with preparing CD’s and DVD duplication to fulfill request orders. Availability: Scheduled once a month or as needed for special events.

Training and orientation to our digital audio board, light board, cameras, and video production will be required.

Creative Team

The development of communicating and illustrating themes of Sunday morning messages. Works closely with the Proclamation Team to presentations, testimonies, and more. Individuals to participate as well as champion and coordinate the objectives of the team. Availability: Team meets one Sunday evening a month, typically the third Sunday of the month, 6-7:30 p.m. Smaller groupings and individuals work on tasks outside this meeting.
