FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: Who is the pastor of the church?
A: In 2007, the church moved to a “pastoral team” concept which includes both paid and volunteer pastors. Bruce Barlow is the leader of the team.
Q: What kind of dress is appropriate for church?
A: Clean and modest. Most people come dressed casually, though a few men still prefer shirt-and-tie. You will be welcome whatever you wear.
Q: What is the music style of WLGBC?
A: Pastor Dave Rank seeks to blend together a combination of worship-and-praise songs and familiar hymns.
Q: Is this primarily a “Grace College & Seminary” church?
A: Since our facility is right across Kings Highway from Grace, we welcome many students, faculty, and staff to our church family. But there are also many others—families and individuals from Warsaw, Winona Lake, and surrounding communities—who have no affiliation with the college and seminary. All are welcome.
Q: How can I keep up with what’s happening at the church?
A: Regular attendance, including being part of a small group or an Adult Bible Fellowship, will connect you the best. Our web page provides current information about events at the church and ways to get connected. You may be added to the weekly e-mail update mailing list by sending your e-mail address to update@wlgbc.com .
Q: What is the church’s affiliation?
A: WLGBC is a part of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, which is headquartered right here in Winona Lake (actually, in the BMH building right next to the church facility!). Learn more about the FGBC and its affiliated agencies (church planting, intercultural missions, church resources, communication) by logging onto www.fgbc.org or www.fgbcworld.com
Q: What is the church’s particular “niche,” or theme?
A: We see ourselves as an “equipping” church, seeking to help every believer develop his or her gifts and using them in ministry. In addition, we seek to be an “outreaching church,” with activity all around town and around the world to bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
